Walk Wheel Cycle Trust visit P4-7
7th Oct 2025
A big thank you to Dave from the Walk Wheel Cycle Trust who visited our P4–7 pupils today to talk about active travel to school.
Dave led a great discussion about the different ways we get to school, with travelling by car being the most common answer. He encouraged us to think about alternative ways to travel—like walking, cycling or using a scooter.
The children shared lots of fantastic reasons for choosing active travel, including:
- It makes us healthy and strong
- It’s great exercise
- It helps our brains and improves our mood
- It clears our minds
- It boosts our social skills
- It lets us enjoy nature
- It reduces traffic
- It helps the environment
- It saves money
We’re very grateful to Dave for such an informative and inspiring session. Let’s see if we can try walking, wheeling, or cycling to school more often!
