Safer Internet Week
What a fantastic week we’ve had celebrating Safer Internet Week here at school! Since we are off for mid-term during the official Safer Internet Day, we got a head start on our celebrations—and our Digital Leaders certainly made it a week to remember.
We are absolutely blown away by the dedication and effort shown by our Digital Leaders. They have been at the heart of every activity, taking on a huge amount of responsibility. Throughout the week, they:
- Shared the theme of the week with everyone- "Smart tech, safe choices – Exploring the safe and responsible use of AI."
- Shared Stories: Visited every classroom to read internet safety books, tailored to each age group.
- Inspired Creativity: Organised a school-wide poster and colouring competition, took on the tough job of judging the entries and presented winners with their prizes.
- Went the Extra Mile: Stayed after school to mentor younger pupils at the P4 Computer Club.
A highlight of the week was the introduction of our brand-new Internet Safety Mascot! Our lovely teddy bear dog (complete with a beautiful custom collar designed by Oscar) has already become a firm favourite. The mascot links perfectly with the "Buddy the Dog" activities our Foundation Stage and Key Stage 1 children worked on, providing a friendly, familiar face for important safety messages.
From the youngest to the oldest, everyone got involved. Some of our classes even joined Just2easy for live lessons, where they explored the concept of their Digital Footprint and how to leave a positive mark online.
A massive well done to our Digital Leaders and a huge thank you to all our pupils for making the week such a success!
