Supporting Children

20th Mar 2020

Dear Parents,

As you are aware, schools have been asked to open with a skeleton staff on Monday 23rd March to support the children of key workers. Children who do not fall into this category must remain at home. It is important that I am aware of potentially how many pupils this might involve in order to arrange supervision. Before contacting the school, please be aware of the following points:

School will not operate as a normal school day. School will be performing supervision duties only.

Only children with both parents as key workers and both parents at work at the same time should consider attending. If possible, alternative childcare should be considered before sending your child to school.

Normal school opening hours will operate.

I will not be in a position to guarantee that pupils attending will not come into contact with other pupils and the risks that this can involve.

As the Minister of Education pointed out, the aim is to keep the number of pupils entering school to a minimum. With this in mind, if you feel that this relates to you, please make contact with me through email before 7pm tonight. My email is on the school website.

Safe regards
