Fire Safety Talk

1st Oct 2025

Our P5 children had a very important visit from the local Fire and Rescue Service today. The firefighters gave a fantastic and engaging talk, teaching the children some vital lessons on how to stay safe and what to do in an emergency.

The children learned about common fire hazards in the home, including the dangers of leaving candles unattended and the risks of overnight charging of electronics. They also discussed the importance of having a working smoke alarm on every level of the house and checking it regularly.

A key part of the talk was about what to do if a fire does happen. The children now understand the importance of having a fire safety plan at home. This includes knowing all the escape routes, having a designated meeting point outside, and most importantly, practicing the plan with the whole family. The message was clear and simple: "Get out, stay out, and call the Fire and Rescue Service."

Thank you to Brian, Michael and Neil for coming in to see our children today!
